QPR's Mahon: Swans Are Best In League

Swansea City have received more praise this season, as QPR's Gavin Mahon says we're the best team he's seen and played against this season.

The midfielder will be up against Martinez's men on Tuesday night as the Swans travel to Loftus Road.

After knocking Portsmouth out of the FA Cup last weekend, Swansea City continued their impressive streak with a 4-1 home League win last night against Preston.

That victory sees us rise up to 8th in the League and our unbeaten run extends to 13 games in all competitions.

Prior to QPR on Tuesday, the Swans are away on Saturday against Southampton who are struggling in 23rd place.

Mahon said:

'Personally, I think Swansea are the best team I've seen or played against this season.

'A lot of teams have gone there and lost. I watched them on TV the other week against Burnley and they passed them off the park.

'Their movement off the ball is so good, especially with Jason Scotland up front. I think Roberto Martinez has done a great job at Swansea and I wouldn't be surprised if he goes on to a bigger club.

'These are going to be two big games. There aren't many people talking about QPR, but we've beaten some of the top teams in this league and there's no reason why we can't keep doing that.'

QPR sit just one place above us in 7th with 45 points. They haven't lost in the League since December 9th and recent results include a 3-0 away win at Blackpool and a 2-0 victory at Derby.

When we played you last you wouldn't have known you had a full back in goal - Dowie's negative tactics never saw us keep hold of the ball, and only one shot on goal told you what you needed to know about that manager and he was subsequently sacked. I recall Damien Delaney getting fed up and thumping the ball goalbound from the halfway line to the cheers of the away following, Dowie gave him a rollocking for daring to have a shot on goal.
