Coppell Backs Swans Play-Off Chances

Reading manager Steve Coppell has said there is no reason why Swansea City can't make a sustained push for a play-off place.

The Royals boss was speaking after watching his side lose 2-0 at the Liberty Stadium; a result that Coppell openly admitted was well deserved for the Swans.

And the former Manchester United player told the Western Mail that Roberto Martinez's side have the ability to go all the way.

"You go back to last season and Hull had an irresistible run to come through at the end and Swansea are certainly well capable of doing that.'

"They have got the excitement of the cup game (against Portsmouth) coming up as well and it`s real positive times here. And that`s compliments to Roberto and the way his team play.'

"Roberto has got a team that is playing really well at the moment and getting good results. Credit to him for that."

"But this is the hardest league with the biggest prize ever.'

"It really is so, so demanding and there`s so many teams who can come with a good run and make life difficult for you."
