Swansea City Interested In MK Dons Skipper

Reports today suggest that Swansea City are now interested in signing MK Dons skipper and left back, Dean Lewington.

The 24 year-old has spent his entire career with the club, well he started off with Wimbledon, and came through their youth system.

Despite Martinez recently saying the club don't have funds to be spending on players at this stage, the Swans are apparently going to equal their record fee paid with a £400,000 bid.

Lewington was named player of the year last season, helping the Dons win the League Two title.

He has made over 250 appearances for his club, scoring 7 goals. This season, he has missed just a handful of League games, as the Dons currently sit in 2nd place following their promotion to League One.

cant us signing him this month, in the summer maybe. where we going to get another £400,000 from?

Read back interviews with Jenkins - the club has no fixed transfer budget and potential signings are being considered as they emerge. We certainly cannot afford to splash out fees in the range of millions but those around 500k can't be unrealistic for us if there's a chance of signing a quality player.

could depend on you beating Histon, thats 75k for reaching the 4th round - plus a decent draw. Overall would expect team reaching 4th rnd and attracting big crowd....450k?!?

we have had a few 100k in tv rights, this price should be no problem

i'm just basing my comment on the fact its been said we have no money to spend on players. maybe we do then.

Martinez has ruled out moves for both, news on the home page.
