Swansea City To Hand Trial To Dutch Striker

Swansea City are set to give a trial to Dutch striker John Verhoek.

The 19 year-old will spend time at the club next week, and says he is hopeful of landing a deal with a British club:

'I think that English football is for me,'

'I am big and strong, but I need to show it in training.

'I have already spoken with Mark Robins, the manager of Rotherham, and he told me he needs a physical striker.

'And next week I will try Swansea, and I will give everything I can to earn a deal.'

Verhoek has played in the second tier of Dutch football this season, with FC Dordrecht but failed to score a single goal.

Birmingham showed an interest in the youngster last Summer but he opted to stay in his home country.

He will also spend time with Rotherham on trial.

scoring no goals this season isn't encouraging but lets wait and see how good he is. doubt we'll hand him a deal though

If Martinez opts to sign than surely as a prospect for the future only. Unproven youngster can't sort our our problems up front immediately.
