Dyer: 'Swansea Are A Premiership Team'

Recent loan signing Nathan Dyer says he is excited with his loan to Swansea City.

"This guy seems to have the right attitude. Looking forward to seeing him play"
The Southampton winger has recently been on loan with Sheffield United, and our performance at home against the Blades sold him a move to the Liberty Stadium.

He was impressed by our performance that day, and later said the Swans were the best side 'he's ever seen'.

Dyer told the Official Site:

'Sheffield wanted me to extend the loan, but once the gaffer (Roberto) spoke to me last week there was only one place I wanted to be.

'I hadn't played many games at Sheffield and I was well impressed with the way Swansea played against us at the Liberty.

'I hadn't seen a Championship side play football like that before. Everything was on the ground and that's the way I like to play. I think Swansea will suit my style.''

'I've spoken to the gaffer and he wants me to play as a second striker as well as a winger,''

'I want to be a goalscorer as well as a provider, but I will have to get myself into the side first.

'I've trained a few times with the boys now and I've been well impressed. Everyone can play so I don't expect to walk into the side. I'm going to have to train hard and take my chance when it comes along.

'But I'm excited about things here. Swansea definitely have a chance of reaching the play-offs.

'They have a Premiership team with a Premiership manager.''

He'll certainly see a lot more football with you then he got at the Lane! Wouldn't get too excited though, he's very hit and miss.

it would be obvious to say that our transfer situation is Dyer but that's exactly what it is. I'm pleased that Roberto has brought in a wide player, however, primarily we are missing a consistant goal scorer and need one if we are going to fulfil Martinez's aim of a top six finish this season. And by Martinez saying he will not bring in any new players during this transfer window has effectively ruined our season.

Scarface4051, I wouldnt say its ruined our season ,but it certainly has dented it as far as a lot of us thinks. Lets hope RM and Scotland can prove us wrong as with Pintado out for 2 to 3 months from Jan 12th with his hernia op, then apart from Bauza we have no more cover.

Pintado out for 2-3 months? I was under the impression it was 2-3 weeks, because of the surgical methods/advances in the clinic in Germany where he is going. If it were months instead of weeks RM would definitely get someone else in up front, not rely solely on JS. Also if it were months thats season over for him, and that wasn't mentioned at all.
