'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Coleman Calls For Reality Check

Former Swansea City defender Chris Coleman has called on Swans fans to keep the faith with Roberto Martinez and his sqaud after a seventh successive draw.

The stalemate with Coleman's Coventry City side extended a run that stretched back to a 1-1 draw with the Sky Blues in November.

Coleman thinks that the Swansea faithful need to be realistic in their expectations this campaign, and that talk of the Play - Offs is premature.

Coleman told the Evening Post:

'Swansea have got to stick to their beliefs. They play football in the right way and have just come into the division.'

'Look where the other two sides who have come up are in the table and it tells you something.'

'There should be no pressure on Swansea to get into the play-offs this year.'

'Roberto is doing things the right way, building slowly, and, if this is their bad patch, it's great that they are not losing games.'

'They played well and created chances against us and we managed to come away with a draw.'

Both Coleman and Martinez were keeping their cards close to their chests yesterday regarding the future of on loan 'keeper Dimi Konstantopolous.

The Greek looks likely to become a Swansea player, with only a possible transfer fee delaying proceedings.
