Positive Pratley Targets Brum Result

Swansea midfielder Darren Pratley is taking the positives from the Boxing Day draw with Coventry, which extended the Swans winless run to eight games.

The 0-0 draw was, as everyone is aware, the seventh consecutive draw for Roberto Martinez's side. The winless run stretches back to the last time Roberto Martinez's team faced up to Birmingham City.

That night the Swans surrendered the lead twice to lose 3-2, and lost Ferrie Bodde in the process. The seven draws which have followed have frustrated players and fans alike, but Pratley insists the run isn't getting the team down.

The Londoner told the Evening Post:

'Obviously it's another draw, but we'll take the positives, there's another game on Sunday so we can't get too down.'

'It's a point against a good Coventry team and there weren't that many clear-cut chances.'

'I can't remember Dorus (de Vries) making too many saves and I don't think we're that far away from a win. It's a clean sheet and hopefully we can build on it.'

'Obviously we want to score goals and win games, but we're not losing. We're unbeaten in seven and hopefully the wins are just around the corner.'

The energetic midfielder admits another draw at St. Andrews would be a good result against a Blues side littered with Premiershp talent.

'If you asked me now if I'd take a point, I'd say yeah. But we'll be going there for a win. We'll always do that.'

'I think we controlled the game (against the Blues at the Liberty), then Phillips came on and scored two. I suppose you get what you pay for in football and Phillips is a Premiership player,' he said.

'He's a threat, but as long as we keep playing the way we do and creating chances I think everybody's happy.'

'Hopefully we can go to Birmingham and get a positive result, then it's Histon in the FA Cup and we'll carry on.'
