Williams Called-up Due To An Element Of Luck!

Swansea City's Ashley Williams reveals there was an element of luck in his call-up to the Welsh national squad.

"My Wales call-up came about when the Under-21 coach Brian Flynn came down to watch Wayne Hennessey in a game. He was impressed with my performance and after hearing my last name was Williams did a check on my background. It turned out my mum's dad is Welsh. The Williams name comes from my dad though so it was all a bit of a happy coincidence that it came about really!

"After getting picked I seem to have been in the team ever since which is great. There's quite a few new young players in the group and we're playing without fear so I think the future's bright for the Welsh side."
