Monk Preparing For Return Of A Legend

Garry Monk has warned his Swansea City team mates to be prepared for the return of fans favourite Lee Trundle on Saturday.

The popular Scouser has made only four starts for Bristol City this season as they have struggled to live up to the standards they set last season.

But Monk believes that no matter how much time Trundle gets on the pitch in Saturday's derby, he is a threat the Swans defence must be ready for.

Monk told the Evening Post:

'Lee has got lots of quality and bags of tricks. I know it will be a strange day for him because of the way he feels about Swansea, but he has got to do a job for Bristol City and I'm sure he'll be trying to get a goal.'

'How will we stop him? Give him a dig in the tunnel maybe, and then get right into him during the game.'

'Seriously, Lee is a great lad and I'm sure it will be a good battle.'

'But we know the talent he has got and we know we're going to have to be very careful with him.'

Trundle scored 85 goals in four seasons as a Jack, and is sure to get a warm reception when he takes to the field on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the club have confirmed that the FA Cup 3rd Round tie with Histon will be played on Saturday 3rd January with a 3pm kick-off.
