Leon Losing Fitness Battle

Swansea City gaffer Roberto Martinez has said midfielder Leon Britton has only a 10% chance of lining up against Cardiff City.

Britton has been troubled by a back problem, and has undergone all manner of treatments in a bid to be fit for the game.

But Martinez seems resigned to losing another key player, after injury and suspension has ruled out Ferrie Bodde and Jordi Gomez respectively.

A philisophical Martinez told BBC Sport:

'He is extremely doubtful. I would say 90-95% not to make it but we need to assess it.'

'It's a back problem, it can change from one day to another. That's the situation.'

'It's a big derby and a big game, but for us every game in this division is a big game.'

'Everyone is really, really looking forward to the occasion.'

'They've got huge players, a lot of Premier League players on loan and that's the opposition we are going to be facing.'

'We are not under any illusions in that respect.'

'To be one to remember, we need to make sure we perform accordingly to our standards that we set this season.'

'But it's only three points and that has to be the reality of it.'

It may only be worth three points, but it the three points that every Jack is desperate to take this season.
