'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Martinez Plays Down Bodde Rumours

Swansea boss Roberto Martinez has been quick to reassure the club's fans that star player Ferrie Bodde is staying at the Liberty.

His comments come after Bodde's agent claimed there was a gentleman's agreement in place that could see the Dutchman move to the Premiership in January.

But El Gaffer told the Evening Post:

'There is no agreement. The only agreement is that Ferrie has a long-term contract with Swansea City.

'We need to make sure he has recovered from Tuesday and is ready to play on Saturday.

'Agents should sit in an office and they should concentrate on their issues.'

Bodde's six goals and outstanding performances have brought him to the attention of many top flight clubs, and the Swansea City board may have to resist some big offers in January.
