O'Halloran Potential Excites Martinez

O'Halloran Potential Excites Martinez

Swansea City`s latest recruit Stephen O`Halloran has joined "at a very good moment" according to manager Roberto Martinez.

The 20 year old signed from Aston Villa on a three month loan deal is set to compete with Federico Bessone for the left back spot left vacant by Marcos Painter`s long term knee injury.

And whilst Martinez won`t say if the Repulic of Ireland international will make his debut against Watford on Sunday, he has indicated that the youngster has a important role to play in his time at the club.

Martinez told the Evening Post:

'Stephen is a very exciting player,'

'He is only 20, yet he has already played international football, which tells you something about what people think of him."

'We have signed him at a very good moment, too, because he is desperate to play and he hasn't been damaged by the first third of the season. He is fresh and ready for the challenge.'

'We are delighted to have him here because we have been following him for 10 or 11 months and he fits all the criteria at our football club. But for now we should enjoy having him here and make sure Stephen enjoys his football."
