Martinez Urges Loanees To Seize Their Chance

Roberto Martinez has called on his five loan signing`s to prove their worth to the club and open up the possibility of a long term deal at the Liberty Stadium.

Aston Villa youngster Stephen O`Halloran is the latest man to make a temporary move to South Wales this campaign, joining Febian Brandy, Jordi Gomez, Artur Krysiak and Dimitrios Konstantopoulos.

And Martinez, who initially joined the Swans on loan as a player, has urged his loan players to make an impact during their time with the Championship new boys.

Martinez told the Western Mail:

'Players have come here on loan before and made big impacts and I would love to see the ones here now do the same.'

'A loan period can help you understand and get attached to the football club and that can help you enjoy your football and bring out the best in you as a player.'

'I think it is good to have the initial short spell that gives the player the chance to see if he likes the way a club works, likes his role in it and to find out if he would like to be part of the club over a longer term. In terms of Stephen, you never can tell - but you could not rule it out.'
