Swansea City have warned clubs not to bother trying to buy Ferrie Bodde in the January transfer window as he is strictly not for sale.
The Dutch midfielder is one of the clubs' most prized assets and he was involved in an on-going transfer saga with Derby in the Summer which fortunately resulted in him staying at the Liberty Stadium.
He decided in the end that it was best for him to stay with the Swans, rather than joining another Championship team, but if one of a number of interested Premiership clubs comes knocking on our door, then don't rule out Bodde putting in another transfer request.
Ferrie has always been ambitious and wants to reach the top flight in the English League, and it was encouraging to hear him say he wants to reach that goal with the Swans.
Bodde said:
| 'I haven't heard anything about these stories, I speak to my agent every week and I haven't heard anything from him. 'It's a compliment if it's true, because that means I am playing well. And it's a dream of mine to play in the Premier League, I'm not going to lie about that. 'But when that will happen, if it happens, I don't know. I hope one day I will play there, but right now I am concentrating on playing games for Swansea. 'We have so many matches, every Tuesday and Saturday, that you don't have time to think about anything else. 'The Premier League is a dream for me, but I'm only 26 so I have a long time to go. 'We have started something at Swansea. 'We made history as a team by winning the league last year and now we are doing well in the Championship. 'As a player, you want to be part of that and there's nothing wrong for me at the moment. I signed a new contract and I am happy at the club. 'We have a fantastic team and I can see that we can win some prizes together. 'Whether that's this year or next I don't know, but in the time that I have here I want to play in the Premier League. 'I do what I can do for the team,' 'I'm happy that I have been able to perform in the Championship, which is what I said before the season started, but that's thanks to the rest of the team. We all help each other.' |
| 'Ferrie signed a long-term contract with us in July and I know that if he doesn't play for Holland, it will be a failure from our side,' 'Ferrie will not have developed the way I know he can and I will take responsibility for that. 'At the moment we are in a position where every Premier League club would be delighted to have Ferrie. 'We are not going to stop speculation about him, but he's enjoying his life, he's enjoying his football and he knows he is progressing with every game. 'We should welcome attention from other clubs because it shows we are doing well. 'Ferrie has mentioned a few times that he would love to sign an even longer Swansea contract and it's great when players are enjoying their daily work. |
