Martinez Praises Krysiak After Swans Début

Swansea City manager Roberto Martinez has praised Artur Krysiak for his performance in the 3-0 win against Southampton at the Liberty Stadium this afternoon.

Rewarding the young Polish shot-stopper for his hard work in training, Martinez opted to hand the Birmingham City loanee his leauge and Swansea début in place of new signing Dimitrios Konstantopoulos who was granted clearance by the football leauge to play this morning.

Filling in for the injured Dorus De Vries who is facing a six week spell on the sidelines after sustaining a broken jaw and a depressed cheek bone, the former York City player seized his chance to impress.Choosing the 19 year old over the experienced Konstantopoulos was not a difficult decision to make according to the Spaniard and highlighted Krysiak's experience with the club as a fundemental factor behind his decision.

Martinez Spoke On The Official Site:

'I think that it was important that Artur came in and he showed how mature he is.But when he gets on the pitch he plays beyond his age and also the fans made him feel really welcome from the first second, that's vital when you've got that relationship between the fans and the players."

"Artur has more experience with Swansea City and that's important.Dimitrios hasn't worked on the training ground, he doesn't really know certain areas of our play but his role and his experience is going to be huge for us.But Artur has worked extremely hard with Inaki (Bergara), he's been fighting to get that chance and he deserves it."

The choice was obvious - Konstantopoulos hasn't trained with the team yet and in this case experience couldn't match Krysiak's two weeks here.

clean sheet yes but had little to do and only needed to make easy saves but I'm not taking anything away from what was a solid debut for the youngster I fully agree as well he diane look 19 out there.
