De Vries Sustains Broken Jaw

Swansea City shot-stopper could face a substantial injury lay off after sustaining a broken jaw and a depressed cheekbone fracture in last nights 0-0 draw against Queens Park Rangers.

It leaves the former Ado Den Haag keeper facing a minimum of six weeks on the sidelines. The Dutchman was stretchered off after a potentially career ending challenge by Martin Rowlands that only earned the 29 year old a yellow card. De Vries has undergone surgery at Swansea's Morriston Hospital who specialize in head injury. It now gives young Polish keeper Artur Krysiak the only professional keeper on the books at the club to face Southampton on Saturday and for the coming weeks. Roberto Martinez has confirmed that there will be no move to bring in another keeper on emergency loan.
