Swansea City full back Angel Rangel showed his disappointment after conceding a late equaliser yesterday away at Ipswich Town.
The Tractor Boys took the lead a few minutes before half time, but Martinez's side struck back soon after the restart as Bodde and Gomez netted to give us the lead.
We couldn't hang on for the remaining 20 minutes or so as Counago bagged a brace on 82 minutes. It was a controversial equaliser though, as both Rangel and Martinez believe the goalscorer was in an offside position.
Despite throwing away 2 points, the Swans should be encouraged by gaining a point on their travels - in a League they haven't competed in for 24 years.
Angel Rangel said:
| 'I think we did one of the worst things in football by coming from behind to take the lead and then giving the lead away,' 'We are disappointed but we have to keep going and look at getting better results.' 'He (Roberto) told us at half-time that we had to change the mentality and needed to adopt more of a winning mentality and show them how good we are as players and as a team. 'I think we put it right by going 2-1 in front but unfortunately in the end we lost two points. 'They got a corner and when it was cleared the shot from their man on the edge of the box wasn't good, but unfortunately for us the ball went to the striker. 'I thought he was offside but it was tight.' 'We now have a very opportunity to bounce back with games on Tuesday (QPR) and Saturday (Southampton) at home,' 'If we win both games, and along with the point against Ipswich, it will be very good for us. 'But we just have to keep working hard and think about the challenges that are ahead.' |
