Chairman Pleased With Championship Start
Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins says he is pleased with the club's start in the Championship.
And he should be, having not seen the club reach the second tier of English Football for 24 years.
Roberto Martinez will be content to see his side currently 8th in the table after 10 games, and while I'm the Spaniard won't rule out our play-off chances, we'd have to settle for a safe mid-table place this year.
Chairman Huw Jenkins said finishing in a similar position to where we are now would be pleasing, he told the Evening Post:
|'We are quite content with how things are ticking over at the moment,' |
Everything is running smoothly and we have settled down well in the new division which is pleasing.
'We are all getting used to the Championship and to the standards that are needed to be competitive at this level.
'We have done reasonably well so far, although I'm hoping we'll get better with every bit of experience we get.
'You don't like to say you'd be happy to end up eighth of 10th, but I think you'd accept that as a fair first year at this level if that's where we finish.
'Having said that, there are areas where we need to improve and I know Roberto would be the first to admit that there's a lot more to come from us as a team.
