Martinez : Wolves Win Was A Complete Performance

Roberto Martinez has heralded Swansea City's 3-1 win over Wolves as a complete performance.

Jordi Gomez got Swansea off to a flying start within 30 seconds after slotting the ball past a stranded Ikeme in the Wolverhampton goal. With swirling winds and torrential rain making playing conditions hazardous, Andy Keogh equalised for Mick McCarthy's side after holding of the challenge of Garry Monk and Ashley Williams to fire past the oncoming Dorus De Vries.

Coming under huge criticism by the Swansea faithful Jason Scotland was out to prove his critics wrong and what a way to do it. Just before the break last seasons league one's top goalscorer sent the Swans 2-1 up and on 57 minutes fans were treated to a goal of the highest order after timing his run to perfection the 29 year old fired into the top right hand corner of Carl Ikeme's goal to send the 17,000 or so Swans fans into rapturous applause. In truth it was no more than the home side deserved but Martinez has expressed his delight at the battling qualities shown by his side.

Martinez Told The BBC:

'I'm delighted with the way we were able to defend and soak up the pressure and play football on top of that.It was the complete performance and the goals came at good times throughout the game.Jason Scotland looked sharp from the first second, he hit the crossbar, scored two goals, looked strong and had that bit of magic.'
