Martinez : Impressed By New Boy Krysiak

Martinez : Impressed By New Boy Krysiak

Swansea City manger Roberto Martinez has heaped more praise on his new charge Artur Krysiak just under a week after the 19 year old Polish keeper signed from Birmingham City.

After securing his long term target, Martinez was in an upbeat mood about his new signing and has declared that he believes that the former Gretna player has all the hallmarks to be a success at full international level, with the vastly experienced Polish national manager Leo Beenhakker.

Krysiak will take his place on the bench at Reading tomorrow afternoon but Swansea fans will get the first chance to see the highly rated shot-stopper in action when Swansea face Swindon Town in the Football Combination reserve leauge fixture on the 1st October at Port Talbot's GenQuip Stadium.

Ticking all the right boxes Krysiak has already formed a good working relationship with goalkeeping coach Inaki Bergara and has shown a good attitude in training.

Martinez Told The SWEP

''We are delighted to have him.We have been after him for a long, long time.He is a very mature player and he plays beyond his age.Artur is going to play at under-21 level and will be a senior international. He has trained with us for three sessions and he has a great attitude. He is a winner and already he has a good chemistry with (goalkeeping coach) Inaki Bergara.

'Artur dislocated his finger earlier in the season but is now fully fit.We will assess him until December and see where that takes us.What we needed in that position was competition. It will be down to performances and he needs to play games. He will have the reserves to start with. Then in training we have got good competition.'

'Artur has got a great presence and he is very confident in one-on-one situations and the aerial game. He comes out for crosses and imposes himself. He is good with his distribution, which, as a keeper, you have to be to be in our side.In a human side he fits in at Swansea City.He has got all the attributes to work hard and has the potential to be a very good keeper.'

Tickets for the reserve team game on Wednesday are sold on the gate and also limited car parking is available.

Hope he proves to be worth as the possible permanent signing.
