Cardiff Fans Deface Liberty Stadium

Cardiff City supporters have destroyed sections of the North Stand at the Liberty Stadium following their sides 1-0 loss to arch rivals Swansea City.

Cardiff fans were seen ripping seats from their brackets following the final whistle and causing damage to electrical systems and toilet facilities. Post match violence had ensued following the game with a small section of Hooligans throwing missiles and other objects at police near popular fast food outlet Rossi's. Five arrests were made by South Wales Police at the stadium and three made in the city center before kick off.

Despite the tense and ugly scenes following the first South Wales derby in 9 years, South Wales Police Assistant Chief Constable Robert Evans has praised the majority of fans for their good behavior he said "It is of credit to the vast majority of mature fans that they supported police and the clubs and confined their rivalries to the pitch."

Swansea City director David Morgan has also reveled there are no plans to ban Cardiff City fans from the ground when the two sides face eachother in the championship on the 30th November.

Morgan Told The SWEP

'Unfortunately there were problems after the match, but there are no plans to ban Cardiff fans when we next play them, on Sunday, November 30.If we do that, then it means the hooligans have won and genuine football supporters will have lost out.No-one wants to see that happen again."

A Club Source highlighted the damage caused:

"It could have been a lot of worse, but there was quite a bit of damage done.Cardiff fans ripped up seats and damaged the toilets as well as some electrical fittings."

Spot on, you cannot lock the real fans out and let the hooligans win. Bunch of morons.

As a Cardiff fan, just like to echo the previous comment. What a load of bollux, ashamed to be tarnished with the same brush as these mindless morons.

ban them all i say, then maybe the good fans will have to report hooligan fans if they want to see games, and that goes for all hooligans, ours too
