Jones "Swansea Deserved Victory"
Cardiff City boss Dave Jones was left under no illusions that Swansea City deserved to win the first South Wales derby in nine years.
In a game which saw the Bluebirds pick up five bookings and a dismissal, the former Southampton boss has bemoaned his sides lack of discipline that led to Cardiff City's 1-0 defeat. The Ninan Park outfit went behind in the 57th minute when Jordi Gomez fired in a free kick but with the aid of a deflection. Ross McCormack could have given the visitors a foothold in the game after latching onto Miguel Comminges pass but the Scot was ruled to be offside.
Jones Told The BBC:
|"We are all very disappointed. We let ourselves down.We didn't play as well as we can do and Swansea deserved the victory. We made too many mistakes and it was our worst performance of the season, we lost our shape and discipline. We have no complaints, we should have been better, but we got carried away with the occasion. We spoke about not getting the crowd up but we did.'|
Cardiff City will be hoping to bounce back on Saturday as they face Birmingham City at Ninan Park.
