Swans Apologise For Cardiff Ticket Debacle

Swansea City officials have issued an apology following the ticketing problems experienced by many fans over the past week in securing tickets for the much anticipated Carling Cup third round clash against arch rivals Cardiff City.

Lengthy queues have angered many fans who have slammed the poor organisation of ticket sales. In some cases club staff have even turned away supporters from the stadium due to the length of time it would have taken to get a ticket.Due to the demand to tickets even staff manning the ticket office telephone lines could not cope with the huge influx of people wanting to book their tickets over the phone or making inquires over the game. Problems in securing tickets has even forced club officials to extend the deadline for season ticket holders to claim their tickets to Saturday September 13th

Tickets are on general sale for the clash and fans are reminded that due to the nature of the game identification must be produced for security and safety reasons. No ticket sales will be possible for the game tomorrow when The Ospreys play the Cardiff Blues. Ticket office hours are from 10am to 6pm but lengthy queues are expected this week.

A Spokesperson told the SWEP:

"'The club apologises for the length of time to buy tickets. This has been caused by the requirement for proof of identification to be produced and recorded.Because of past history, one requirement is that the details of the person sitting in each and every seat must be noted.I would appeal to people not to take their frustration out on staff, but to be patient — there are plenty of tickets available if they are prepared to wait for them"

Swansea City will return to action this weekend as Roberto Martinez prepares his squad to face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
