Sam Vokes (83)
Match Comments
Vokes forces the keeper into a fantastic save, heading Bale's cross. He follows that up by giving us the lead at last, scrambling the ball in from close range.

Koumas misses a penalty after 65 minutes, and does no better with the rebound.

Toshack's side go close again as Koumas's 25 yard curling shot is palmed around the post for another corner.

Wales begin to put pressure on the visitors' goal by 2 decent chances. The last saw a long free kick parried by the keeper and the defence clear for a corner.

Arzerbaijan have a decent chance from a corner after 11 minutes. A low cross comes in which is dummeyed, but the follow up shot is blasted over the bar.

Ashley Williams played well imo. The atmosphere was $hit! The FAW need to ban those bloody horns! Should definately have been played at the Lib.

Wales had no width and only one up front! Crap. But 3 points and thats all that matters
welshboy78
poor tactics really, putting earnshaw up front on his own, wasnt in the game at all.

i think with the way we played, if we had 2 up front we could prob have won alot more comfortably, so it was encouraging to see. i liked the look of that david edwards in the middle and i thought bale was excellent. williams didnt have alot to do, but he looked very comfortable in what he did.

1 up front against such poor opposition and at HOME poor tactics by an inadequate manager
