Swansea City - Keeper Search Continues

Roberto Martinez says the transfer deadline will not affect his determination to find the right man for the no. 2 spot between the posts.

According to reports Martinez eyes signing of a Premiership youngster on a long-term loan deal. The emergency transfer window opens in six days time.

Martinez told the SWEP:

"We all know we need to strengthen the goalkeeping area but the deadline doesn't affect us at all.

You can use the emergency loan system, which is available from September 8, or you can take someone who is unattached, which is always an option.

We have to make sure we get the right person in, and it takes time to see players' personalities and also their contractual situations.

That's why I will not be rushed and I am not under any pressure because Dorus (de Vries) is such a reliable figure."

Was surprised noboody came in yesterday. Surely a number 2 keeper is as important as a third CB.

i agree. reliable he may be, but dorus is not superhuman, he is just as likely to pick up an injury as anyone else. so a keeper is vitally important.

I'm surprised we didn't sign someone. Looks like the versatile Alan Tate will be no.2 unless Roberto gets a keeper on loan...
