Swans Hopeful of Lowe Signing

Swans Hopeful of Lowe Signing

With the failure to bring in Gillingham defender Brent Sancho due to a dissagreement with the chairman of each club, BBC Radio Wales today reports that Jackett is still hoping to sign Wolves' Keith Lowe before Sunday's match at home to Walsall.

Jackett made enquiries about taking the centre half on loan but a potential loan move looked to unlikely because of Hoddle's injury problems he had at the Championship club.

However, the radio station today said that Jackett is hoping to sign him in time for Sunday's game.

He said: "As far as I know, Keith is from Wolverhampton and born and bred in the UK - so I'm not expecting any work permit issues!"

"We hope there will be no problems this time, though as it stands, it's a verbal agreement we've reached with Wolves and the paperwork should be completed on Friday morning.

"If it all goes through, it'll be a big boost for us as we've got a shortage of defenders - if you look at the bench against Colchester on Tuesday evening, we didn't have any back-up."

"Keith's a central defender with good strength and pace,"

In other news, Assistant Manager, Kevin Nugent is also hoping that Sam Ricketts and Leon Britton will return from sickness to play on the weekend. Ricketts was sick during Tuesday's game while Britton picked up a stomach bug on the same night. Talk on the forum suggests the Welsh international full back has had food poisoning this week.

I wish HJ would keep his mouth shut and allow KJ to deal with player issues .

I hope we get a defender in, we desperately need one now with the Sancho deal falling through and Ricketts having a stomach bug. He's sounds like a good player as well does Keith Boyd.
