Swansea City Res Vs Reading Res Match Preview

Swansea City reserves will kick off their Football Combination Challenge Cup campaign against Reading at Port Talbot Town's GenQuip Stadium on Wednesday evening.

In a restructuring of the reserve team competitions in the football league this new cup competition has been put in place to stimulate a more competitive edge to a much maligned reserve team league structure.Swansea and Reading have kicked of their reserve team campaigns with very different results. Colin Pascoe's reserve team slumped to a 4-0 loss to league one outfit Cheltenham Town at Whaddon Road. It came as a huge surprise with the likes of Albert Serran , Andrea Orlandi , Alan Tate and former Robin Kristian O Leary were all in the starting line up. Guillem Bauza , Andrea Orlandi , Dennis Lawrence and the first team fringe players could all start for Swansea City whilst Roberto Martinez could press Federico Bessone into action as the Argentinian born defender looks to gain crucial match fitness after breaking his rib in the 2-0 first round Carling Cup win against Brentford last month.

Reading on the other hand produced a fine 3-0 win over Southampton at the Staplewood training ground, that even left Saints reserve team coach Mark Wotte impressed by the Royals' performance. Pascoe will be hoping for a good result against a well drilled Reading side that have in recent seasons brushed aside the likes of Arsenal to go and win the Premier reserve team title in 2007.

seems that way to me too. also i see we still dont have a new keeper, its starting to worry me slightly, there is no way we can get through this season without back up for dorus.

Can't see anything but a defeat here either but hopefully we won't let 4 in this time!

It is a real concern that Tony Pennock is our reserve goalkeeper.

didn't Joe Walsh play lead guitar in The Eagles, bit old now surely?
