Gower: Have To Learn From Our Mistakes

Swansea City new boy Mark Gower has admitted squad moral was low after settling for a point against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday afternoon.

Dutchman Ferrie Bodde had put the Swans into a 1-0 lead in the first half with a trademark thunderbolt drive that had Lee Grant in the Owls goal well beaten. Creating most of the chances in the game it came as a huge blow when Brian Laws side equalised through a Steve Watson header with 20 minutes to go. Not deterred by dropping two points Gower has urged his team mates to learn from the mistake and move on.

Since his free transfer from Southend United in the summer, Swansea fans have still to see the best of the Former Barnet man. That fact has not gone unnoticed by the midfielder and has insisted the best is still yet to come but a goal will help him find his feet.

Gower Told The WM:

"We didn`t get the result we deserved and it`s disappointing to come off with just a point. The dressing room was pretty low because we had done enough to win the game. The second goal is crucial and we didn`t take our chances to kill the game off. After that, you always worry that you are going to get punished and, unfortunately, we did.In this league you have to kill teams off. We didn`t do that and we have to learn from our mistakes.

"It is going well for me here,.I like to get the ball down and play so this team suits me.I have settled in quite well and hopefully that will continue. If I get my first goal, then I will be properly up and running. There is more to come from me because I am still trying to find my feet. I just have to keep being positive and try to score some goals."

Swansea City reserves are in action on Wednesday evening at Port Talbot, against Reading tickets cost £3 and limited parking is available.
