Pintado Praises Fans In Hull Fightback

Pintado Praises Fans In Hull Fightback

Swansea City striker Gorka Pintado has praised the fans for being the twelfth man after the 2-1 win over Hull City in midweek.

In the spellbinding game against the Premiership new boys the former CD Leganés man certainly increased his currency with a performance that would not look out of place in the top flight of the British game. Since his arrival on British shores the intelligent striker has scored two goals in three appearances for his new club, it is no wonder Granada CF fans were left distraught by his departure from the Estadio Nuevo Los Cármenes. It has not been all all plain sailing for the striker since his move from Spain. Pintado could have featured against Charlton Athletic at the Valley if not for a groin strain sustained in a pre season friendly against Chester City.

The San Sebastian born product is made of stronger stuff after Roberto Martinez revealed the new fans favourite has been playing with a back injury. Nearing full fitness in the next two weeks the striker is out to net more goals after declaring his back problems as a hindrance to his play.

Pintado Told The SWEP:

"I got some minutes on the pitch and I tried to do my best to help the team win, The Hull goalkeeper played well. He saved a few from me but the most important thing was that I got the chances. You will score when you get chances and that's good for the team. I was 24 then, I couldn't play as many minutes as I wanted to and didn't get the chance to score goals. My job is to score goals for the team. I have got 18 a season for the last three years and now I want to get as many as I can for Swansea City. I'm pleased with two goals so far. But I have got some pain in my back and that's stopping me getting better.

I want to get some continuity. I want to play more minutes to help us win games. The mentality of football is different from Spain, I'm enjoying it more here. The supporters have a different attitude and they were very important for us against Hull. They were shouting all the time, even when we were losing, and thanks to them we were able to score two goals and win."
