Trundle Could Be Fit For Sunday
Kenny Jackett is hoping to have star striker Lee Trundle available for Sunday's home game against Walsall.
In Tuesday's LDV Vans Trophy match against Colchester, the club's top scorer suffered a recurrence of his stomach muscle strain that forced him to leave the field immediately after scoring a winning goal at Nottingham Forest last month.
Again, he had to leave the pitch during the 1-0 against Colchester and Jackett is hoping to have him available for Sunday's game, he said:
''It's a problem with his stomach he's suffered with for a while.
Just like at Forest, he had to come straight off after hitting a shot but as yet we don't know how long he will be out for.''
Sam Ricketts was sick during the game but the Swans boss is hoping he'll bounce back soon: He said:'It's one of those things you get over pretty quickly with a couple of days in bed.'
Many Swans fans were hoping to see a Knight & Trundle strike partnership for Tuesday's game but Akinfenwa was brought in and he proved those fans wrong with the only goal of the game on 40 minutes.
It's becoming obvious now that Jackett likes one targetman (Akinfenwa or Fallon) to play alongside a goalscorer (Knight & Trundle). Therefore a Trundle/Knight partnership is highly unlikely.
Bayo replaced the cup tied Fallon and showed his worth to the side and he'll be hoping to keep his place against Walsall on the weekend.
Tommy Williams will be back as well as he was cup tied while O'Leary remains suspended. Austin is likely to miss again due to injury so Forbes could keep his place at right back, especially if Ricketts isn't fit to play.
