Swansea City boss Roberto Martinez said yesterday's match was a "pleasure to watch" as the Swans dumped Premiership side Hull City out of the Carling Cup.
The home side came back from a goal down to win 2-1 thanks to Jordi Gomez's penalty kick in extra time.
Pintado came off the bench in the second half to cancel out Windass' first half opener.
Forget our poor first half show, from the restart we controlled most of the game, Pintado gave us an excellent boost when he came on and the likes of Orlandi, Gomez and MacDonald also contributed particularly well to what was a stunning victory.
Martinez was delighted with the performance, saying his side were a "pleasure to watch", he told BBC Sport:
| "It is a great achievement to reach the third round for the first time in 26 years. I know there were a lot of changes on both sides but it speaks volumes on how far we have come as a football club when we can compete with and beat a Premier League side. That is testament to how well prepared and how hard the lads have been working because our quality of play was outstanding. We looked the stronger side as the game went on and we played some special football that I hope our fans enjoyed. Hull had some very expensive Premier League players but I thought we controlled the game from the start of the second-half. We created enough chances after the break to win the game comfortably and it was a pleasure to watch." |
