Martinez: Ref Was Right To Disallow Goal

Swansea City boss Roberto Martinez said the referee was right to disallow Plymouth Argyle's 'goal' in the second half.

The home side thought they had brought the scores level from a corner kick when Seip headed home.

Sky Sports showed replays of the disallowed goal on numerous occasions as their pundits tried to look for any reason why the goal wasn't legal. There weren't any, De Vries was lost in the 6-yard area and stumbled but this didn't seem to be the result of a push from an Argyle player.

The ref and Roberto thought otherwise though and the Spaniard said:

'The referee had a clear view of and if you look at it again it's a clear push,'

'That's what it seems to be.'

martinez, are you serious? nothing wrong with that goal whatsoever, i wonder what he'd say if it was at the other end!

It was slightly embarrasing. Hopefully now RM will sort out our defensive frailties. We cannot defend set pieces.

I wonder if any other fans would be so quick to admit ref's mistake (although I personally don't see any)...

I did have my special Swansea City specs on and i've looked many a time and i genuinely cannot see any reason why a goal would not be given.

The keeper falls so the referee automatically think its a foul. goalkeepers special treatment i think.
