Sturrock: Swansea Were The Better Team

Plymouth Argyle boss Paul Sturrock said his side were beaten by the team today after his 1-0 defeat against Swansea City.

Sturrock preferred not to talk about the disallowed goal in the post-match press conference, and rather to concentrate on the errors his side made that contributed to their loss this evening.

Jason Scotland scored the only goal of the game just before time after an excellent one-two with man of the match winner Darren Pratley.

The hosts upped the momentum in the second half but they still couldn't find a way through Swansea's defence.

Talking to Plymouth's official site, Paul Sturrock highlighted Swansea's passing ability and said:

'I don't want to talk about it [disallowed goal]. I have got too many other things to think about. I am very hopeful we will get the benefit in other games.

'We were beaten by a team that wanted to pass the ball and a better team on the day. I don't think they are a better side than us but they were able to get the ball down and make passes.

'We were not pressurized by them to the extent that we had to play one-touch passes in certain areas. There was a lack of belief in our psyche. Individually, we are making mistakes.

we were miles better, plymouth didn't have much going for them up front and will need to vastly improve to stay up.

We were the better team but we werent at the top of our game.

Good attitude by Sturrock I think. Not concerned whatsoever about the disallowed goal and knows his side wouldn't have deserved a point from the game. More concerned about his side's poor performance.
