Toshack Calls Up Collins To Wales Squad

John Toshack has called up right back Matty Collins to the Wales senior squad for the friendly against Georgia.

The young full back's year is getting and better and is a huge contrast to last year where he failed to make a appearance for Swans in our Championship-winning campaign.

Collins has started both our games this season and Toshack has obviously been impressed with his performances so far. The former Swansea manager was at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday to watch him in action against Nottingham Forest.

The Wales vs Georgia match will be played at the Liberty Stadium on Wednesday 20th August, kicking off at 8.05pm.

Collins will join fellow Swansea team-mates Owain Tudur-Jones, Joe Allen and Ashley Williams in the senior squad. Shaun MacDonald will feature for Wales under-21s as they face Romania in a Euro 2009 qualifier.

Wow. What a turn around. Surprised at Joe Allen being in the squad?

Joe Allen is suspended for the u21s but it's still a bit of a surprise. As for Collins, he has come so far in the last 12 months! Is he still with that imogen from big brother?

toshack was watching saturday then and was obviously impressed by his performance, he looked decent to be fair.

if he is still with imogen which i think he is then he's a lucky boy!
