'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Martinez's Views Ahead Of Forest Game

Swansea City boss Roberto Martinez is expecting another tough game on Saturday when Colin Calderwood's side visit the Liberty Stadium.

Nottingham Forest held one of the division's title favourites, Reading to a goalless draw last Sunday. It'll be difficult for the Swans to break down a defence who managed to keep 24 clean sheets last season.

As well as that, Martinez's defence will also have to deal with their big £2.65m Summer signing, former Cardiff City striker Robert Earnshaw.

Roberto seems wary of the threat Forest will pose on Saturday and he told BBC Sport that his side need to be up for the challenge:

'If you look at the amount of money that's accumulated in transfer fees, it speaks volumes of the career he's had,'

'He's got fantastic mobility, he is very clever and he's a goalscorer.'

'We have to make sure we are up for the challenge.

'Nottingham Forest paid £2.65m and it shows he should be one of the main players in this division.'

'They really get the ball down and play,'

'I expect it to be a fantastic advert for Championship football and a game that should be really open and full of good football.

'The two ideas of football were completely different last campaign but I think it is the same now.

'The pressure (of Forest winning promotion) is off their shoulders now and they will come down here thinking they can win.'

Like last season incidentally, the two sides meet at the Liberty Stadium for the second game of the season. Hopefully this year though it won't end in a 0-0 draw.

we'll need to deal with earnshaw, i have my doubts we will as our centre backs aren't exactly quick or responsive.

Monk won't be able to handle Earny. Williams will have to stick to him like glue.

That is if Monk is playing, from what I saw of Serran he has pace and can jump so he may be our answer for set pieces and their runners. I wonder if RM would consider playing Serran and Williams together or not.
