Martinez Delighted To Land Hull City In Cup

Swansea City boss Roberto Martinez has shown his delight after Swansea were drawn with Hull City at home in the Carling Cup second round.

The Spaniard's side beat Brentford 2-0 in midweek thanks to a Shaun MacDonald brace.

Martinez told the official site it was exactly what he wanted, a home tie against a Premiership club:

'It's a fantastic draw,''

'When you wait for a cup draw you hope for two things; firstly a home tie and secondly a Premier League club.

'We've got both of them, plus a bit of history thrown in as well.

'When we played Hull at the Vetch Field back in May 2003, it was probably the most important 90 minutes in the club's history as we needed the win to stay in the league.

'This time it will be nice to welcome them to the Liberty Stadium for the first time with, I'm glad to say, the club in a totally different position.''

'We'll look forward to welcoming Sam back,''

'I'm sure it will be a fantastic experience for him as well.''

The tie will be played on the week beginning August 25th.

its a great draw, one we have the possibility of winning i think if hull put out their second team. our second team that played on tuesday looks good and has plenty of ability to cause a slight upset.
