Double Striker Boost For Swansea City

Swansea City manager Roberto Martinez has received a boost this week with the news that striker duo Jason Scotland and Gorka Pintado are set to return from injury.

Gorka Pintado suffered a groin injury in a friendly against Chester a fortnight ago while Jason Scotland has gradually been gaining his fitness back after having an operation in the Summer.

Both players could be in the frame for a start on Saturday as Nottingham Forest are this week's visitors to the Liberty Stadium.

Pintado returned to full training this week but is likely to only make the bench on Saturday after a lack of match time in recent weeks. Scotland however, started Tuesday's Cup game and could partner Bauza up front.

Also close to returning is right back Angel Rangel. He came on as a sub on Tuesday night and is also recovering well after a pre-season operation.

Roberto Martinez told Wales Online:

'Gorka is recovering really well and we will now assess him over the next 24 hours but he has a good chance of being available, then we will just have to see. Angel showed he is ready to play a part after Tuesday and Jason has progressed well.
