Scotland Still Not Fit For Cup Clash

Swansea City's top scorer last season Jason Scotland is still not fully fit to start a game.

There were hopes that he'd make a return tomorrow night when Brentford visit the Liberty Stadium for the Carling Cup first round, but he is likely to make the bench.

The Swans are also waiting for the return of fellow striker Gorka Pintado.

Roberto Martinez told Wales Online:

"Jason isn`t ready to start a game yet. But we were very, very happy with what he brought into the squad on Saturday.

"His performance was of the highest quality and hopefully he will be fit for a full 90 minutes very soon.

"Right now what I`m interested in is seeing Jason being effective on the pitch, not how long he is on it for."

Martinez also commented on whether or not he'll bit for Saturday's League home game against Nottingham Forest, he added:

"It depends on Tuesday.

"If he is available for the cup competition we will have to assess him after that and, if not, we will make sure he is available for Saturday in some capacity."

Even if he was fit i dont think i'd risk him. We need him on saturday versus Forest.

no point in risking him, we need him fit for Saturday though, I doubt he will.

Hope he starts banging them in when he's fully fit!
