Swansea City Pre-Season Round-Up - June

More Signings

Following Roberto Martinez's first scouting mission overseas, speculation grew over the possible signings of Spanish duo Gorka Pintado and Jordi Gomez. Both signed early on in June. £200,000 was splashed out for Gomez's 1-year loan and a further £150,000 (approx) on striker Pintado.

The Spaniard didn't stop there as Southend winger Mark Gower was our 4th signing, a likely replacement for Andy Robinson.

Monk signs new Deal

The Swans were then boosted with the news that club captain Garry Monk extended his Liberty stay by signing a new long-term contract.

Bodde saga continues

Further bids came in from Derby for Ferrie Bodde but they still failed to reach 7 figures and our valuation, they were quickly rejected by Swansea City. Following his transfer request, Bodde tells the Swans via the press to make his 'dream' move to Derby a reality.

Defenders Leave the Club

Another two defenders leave the club as veteran Kevin Austin is released to join League Two side Chesterfield while Kevin Amankwaah signs for Swindon Town.

Spanish Defender Duo Sign

Roberto Martinez moved quickly to replace the likes of Austin and Watt as Alberto Serran and Federico Bessone join the club.

Swans Fail To Sign Anderson

Swansea City suffered a blow during June as Paul Anderson opts to join Nottingham Forest on loan rather than extending his stay at the Liberty Stadium.

The new faces were an unknown quantity. But then Marinez's recruits 12 months previous proved to be very good, so I trusted his judgement again.

Glad our two defenders left. With a decent defence last season, we would'v been promoted by christmas

looks like we may have finally sorted the defence out - all we need now is to release donkey dennis!

Hopefully the new signings will be a success like his signings last year.
