Mowbray Compliments Swansea After Draw

West Brom manager Tony Mowbray says Swansea City will be fine in the Championship after watching his side draw 0-0 at the Liberty Stadium yesterday.

Despite it being Kristian O'Leary's testimonial match, both sides took the game seriously, naming strong line-ups.

The Swans coped well with their Premiership opposition and had chances to win the game. Guillem Bauza went close to extending his pre-season goal tally when he went through on goal but Carson made a good save.

Mowbray said after the game:

"I think Swansea will be fine in the Championship,"

"I like the way they play and they are a credit to my philosophy of how the game should be played.

"Roberto will have his own beliefs and know what he wants to do. But if they stick to what they did against us then they will be fine.

"They have got some very good players. The challenge for them is to produce in the Championship and it`s a very tough league."

Mowbray also warned the Swans over what not to do in the Championship, he added:

"There are a lot of tough days when you try to play football in the Championship. Teams recognise your strengths and they try to stop you playing.

"Teams will work Swansea out very quickly and a lot of teams in that league are based around stopping the opposition and scoring goals of set plays. So if you can`t defend your box, you will lose matches.

"I wish them good look with it."

Last season we were caught out, conceding goals from set pieces. The defence has been strengthened, so I hope we will be much stronger this season.

still some concerns at the back though, all the goals we conceded in spain were because of lapses in concentration and just blatent errors
