O Leary Out To Beat West Brom

Swansea City will not be taking their feet of of the accelerator when they face premiership new boys West Bromwich Albion in Kristian O Leary's testimonial game.

Making over 300 appearances for the club the game will be a fitting way to thank the Port Talbot born player for his long and loyal service to the club. The midfielder has urged fans to attend the game in their droves and has revealed Roberto Martinez has put great emphasis on the players that his game must be treated with commitment with the season start just over a week away.

O Leary Told The BBC:

"We are a week away from the season, so there will be no messing about.West Brom were concerned that it was a testimonial but Roberto Martinez has said it will be a proper game. I hope it's going to be a great day for everyone, especially my family. It will be a proud day for them. Because they have stuck by me through the good times and the bad times. I hope some of the fans turn up and enjoy watching some of the new players."

Tickets will be available for the fixture on the gate, cash only.

It should be a competitive game, just because it is a testimonial doesn't mean that the boys wont go out to win the game. Thanks KOL football needs more players like you!
jack hammers
definitely, he's been harshly treated by some fans but he stuck by us during those tough years, he's a true jack all right. he wants it to be a competitive game though and so too does martinez.
