'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Martinez Predicts Championship Success For Orlandi

Swansea City boss Roberto Martinez has heaped praise on Andrea Orlandi by saying he'll be the 'best left-footed player in the Championship'.

He netted his first Swansea City goal last night, giving us a 1-0 win in a friendly against CF Palamos.

After struggling with injuries last season, Martinez is expecting him to be one of their star performers in the Championship:

''Without a doubt Andrea is going to be the best left-footed player in the Championship,''

''It was just the other side of his game that Andrea needed to work on.

''You have to be effective and you have to be ready for the British game, and I think Andrea is ready now.

''He understands what is needed now and he has come back really focused and worked hard since day one.

''It's great to see him score his first goal. With the quality he has got he should hit the back of the net a lot more often.''

Swansea City face Orlandi's former club tonight - Barcelona B. You can follow the match live on Vital Swansea with chat, updates and score.

Huge praise indeed.

That's massive praise!! Do you think Roberto is just trying to give him a conidence boost? Best left footed player in the division is quite a statement!!
Tini
i think so tini, he does that often to boost morale. has a lot of work left to do me thinks.
GThomas
He has got a good left boot, but i think for example with him getting subbed in the 1st half against Barca B he can't be playing that well can he?
Tini
He was subbed against Barca because he was getting a bit wound up by his old team mates, he was yellowed early and then commited a foul a minute later, the ref was blowing for everything so RM brought him off as a precaution. Bussy saw red that is how much the ref was giving them!
