Swans Shine In Double Win

Fresh from a 5-0 win over Neath Athletic yesterday evening Swansea City continue their preparations for next seasons championship campaign with a mini tournament against Carmarthen Town and Port Talbot at Richmond Park this evening.

So far this pre season campaign the Swans have scored a whopping 11 goals. Spaniard Guillem Bauza has continued where he left from the tail end of last season after grabbing braces against both Neath and Östersunds FK. Whilst Dutch trialist Micheal Van Der Heijden has another chance to impress Roberto Martinez as the former RKC Waalwijk midfielder continues his quest to land a contract with the club.

In two 45 minute games which will provided the much needed match fitness to the squad are due to kick off at 7.50 with a game against Port Talbot Town and then another 45 minute game against Carmarthen Town at 8.40pm. Martinez is expected to give all first team players a run out this evening.

In the first match Carmarthen Town and Port Talbot town could only muster a 0-0 draw.

Swansea City continued the good form shown over the previous two friendly matches by beating the Steelmen 4-0. Gorka Pintado grabbed his second hat trick in a Swansea Shirt following the triple strike against Östersunds FK.

His first goal came from the penalty spot. His second came shortly after latching onto an Andrea Orlandi cross.

Loan signing Jordi Gomez made it 3-0 after heading the ball past Rodgers in the Port Talbot goal. Pintado added a 4th before the final whistle.

great win, our squad is lookin the strongest ive seen it in years. why cant we challenge for the playoffs this year. there so many big talkers in this league, which aint as good as they make out. lets make the liberty a fortress and support these players.

7 goals in 90 minutes is a good night's work. So far these games are proving a good workout and are far better than just fitness training.
