Derby Will Not Increase Bodde Bid

Derby County will not raise their £1.5 million bid for want away midfielder Ferrie Bodde.

In a bid thought to be worth up to £2 million Rams Chairman Adam Pearson has seen the clubs third fresh bid for the midfielder turned down. Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins from the outset has indicated that the club will not accept any less than the full £2 million evaluation of the player. In the ongoing saga regarding the possible transfer a war of words has erupted between the two parties making negotiations more complex.

Last week the Pride Park outfit declared they were out of the race to sign the Delft born player but with West Bromwich Albion thought to be interested in landing the ferocious player, Bodde's future looks less than certain. Despite this Pearson who placed a whopping £500,000 tag on Darryl Duffy (whilst at Hull City) just over a year ago, believes that there is still a deal to be done but has warned Swansea they will seek other targets should the Rams not capture their primary target in Bodde.

Pearson Told The Derbyshire Telegraph:

'"He [Ferrie Bodde] is our first choice but we are not prepared to pay over the odds," said Adam Pearson, the Rams' chairman of football. We have got a couple of other targets we are looking at. They are two extremely experienced European players and we will turn our attention to them.He spent last week at home in Holland and was again quoted as saying he wanted to join Derby. "Everybody knows that's what I want. Now I just hope a deal can be done."

Tickets for the Ado Den Hagg friendly and the Carling Cup first round clash against Brentford go on sale today from the ticket office.

the amount of times they've said they've ended their attempts to sign him, i'll never believe it until he signs for someone else.
