Swansea Linked With Swindon's Brezovan

Swansea City have been thought to have made an approach for Swindon Town's Slovakian keeper Peter Brezovan according to his agent.

Swans manager Roberto Martinez is believed to be an admirer of the 28 year old shot stopper and with David Knight still to sign a contract extension with the club a move for Brezovan could be on the cards. Starting his career with Slovak club PS Bratislava the goalkeeper has become a fans favourite at the City Ground since his permanent switch from FC Brno in 2006. Despite the interest by Swansea City the player has expressed loyalty to the Robins and insisted he is happy with the Wiltshire club. However he has refused to rule out a move to a club in a higher division.

Brezovan told the Swindon Advertiser:

"I don't want to go somewhere else. I've got a good position, I want to stay here in Swindon and play well this season and see what happens after that. I'm 28 now. It's the best age for a goalkeeper. If I stay here that will be very nice, everything looks like it can go up, the club is building. My agent wants to find a solution for me. He wants to do for me what he can - a better contract here or go somewhere else, that's up to him. That's his job, not mine. I'm happy here.

If someone is interested in me you have to be thinking about going somewhere else because you can have everything better. It's my life and my step up. I don't want to go down. I'm 28, so if an opportunity comes I want to take it. I spoke to my agent after my holiday. He said to me about Swansea, and that's what I read in the paper. He spoke with the manager of Swansea, but I am still under contract so it's not too easy for them as well."

Tickets for Kristian O Leary's testimonial game against premiership new boys West Bromwich Albion on August 2nd will be on sale from Monday. Only the West and East stands will be open which means Season Ticket holders are NOT guaranteed their seats. Tickets cost 15 for adults and 7.50 for concessions (full time student, senior citizens, disabled and children under-16). Family deals are available and for 25 for one adult and two children can take in the game whilst 40 will cover two adults and two children.
