Bodde Escapes Fine Over Remarks

Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins is hoping that Derby County's withdrawal from negotiations over Ferrie Bodde mark the end of the ongoing transfer saga.

Jenkins has has also flatly denied Derby County's under fire Chairman Adam Pearson's claims that he and the board raised the asking price from 2 million to 2.5 million Pearson had claimed yesterday that "the goal-posts" were being moved by Jenkins as an attempt to hold the Pride Park club to ransom.

Bodde has spoken out about his situation and has openly declared he wishes to join Derby but the Delft born player still has two years to run on his contract with the club and any move will be on Swansea City's terms. Jenkins hopes that the highly regarded midfielder can stay with the club and wants him to knuckle down and focus on next seasons championship campaign.

Jenkins Told The SWEP:

"I'm pleased to hear that Derby have pulled out of the running to sign Ferrie. We have said all along that we want to keep him and we hope this will be the end of the saga. I've said previously that the whole situation is no good for anyone and I would love this to go away. Whether that happens will depend on Ferrie knuckling down and concentrating on preparing for the new season with us."

"Whether he is prepared to do that is a question you will have to ask him. He is our player and he will be until we decide to accept someone's offer. It's not true to say we've asked for 2.5million. We've never asked for anything for Ferrie because we don't want to sell him. We've never talked about an asking price, we've only said that we value Ferrie at around 2million." "

Jenkins has also confirmed that no disciplinary action will be taken against Ferrie Bodde over his remarks attributed to him on Sky Sports website in which he wanted Swansea City to "be fair" and let him move on. Swansea manager Roberto Martinez has reprimanded Bodde over his remarks but has decided not to fine the player.

Jenkins Told The WM:

"Roberto is in charge of club discipline and he will handle everything the way he sees fit. In terms of Sweden, Roberto will again make that decision.Of course, it is still Ferrie`s decision for what happens - that`s what it always boils down to"

Darryl Duffy has completed his 100,000 move to Bristol Rovers yesterday..

I think he should be fined but why upset the apple cart still further. If he stays we want a love love relationship. Derby are gonna get so much **** when they come to the Liberty Stadium.
