Swansea City look to have won the race to sign Liverpool winger Paul Anderson beating Nottingham Forest for his services.
Roberto Martinez has revelled after talks with the highly sought after youngster the player wants to sign on again for the Liberty Stadium outfit. It is widely thought that a £100,000 loan fee would be paid to the Anfield club to secure his services .
Anderson was subject to a rumoured £750,000 bid from Nottingham Forest but the hugely influential winger had signed a long term deal with his parent club and a loan move was the the only option. In a fresh twist to the on going saga regarding the talented youngster who scored 10 goals last season , is a potential bid from Derby County who are hot on the heals of Ferrie Bodde.
According to Roberto Martinez he will bide his time to finalise the deal with fellow countryman Rafa Benitez and has admited that other clubs could yet still scupper the attempts to land the Melton Mowbray product.
Martinez Told The SWEP:
| ''I met with Paul and we agreed that as far as football reasons go it's clear, he wants to play for Swansea City.We are delighted about that, but there are three parties here, ourselves Liverpool and the player, and we must all come together now on an agreement. We all know how excited Paul is about playing Championship football and we're delighted that he wants to do it with us.Paul has told me he wants to come back here and that he is happy to carry on his development with Swansea, but now we need to finalise things.'' 'Now we hope to carry on our relationship, but there's been a lot of interest in Paul and other clubs can try to make offers to try to break that relationship. That's what happens in football.Liverpool are in a very busy period and we have to find the right moment to come together with them to finalise things. They will have the final say, but I think we will know very soon what they think.'' |
