Bodde: Let Me Join Derby

Bodde: Let Me Join Derby

Ferrie Bodde has pleaded with the club to let him join fellow Championship club Derby County.

The Dutchman has dealt the club and its fans another blow by declaring his desire to join Derby County.

Bodde handed in a transfer request last week but Swansea City are adamant that they will not sell unless a club meets their £2m valuation of the player.

Bodde told Sky Sports:

'I have loved my time with Swansea and will forever be grateful for them for giving me my break in British football,'

'But I have to think about my career and the prospect of joining a club like Derby County, is one I just cannot ignore.

'I really want Swansea to do a deal with Derby and give me the chance of talking to them.'

The Dutchman was one of our star performers last season and became an instant hit with the fans with his sheer quality and no-nonsense style of play.

He was instrumental in our Championship winning season last year and losing him would no doubt effect the squad in a big way ahead of the new campaign.

The Swans will also only get around half the fee if Bodde is sold because of a large sell-on fee within his contract.

Despite his desires to leave for Derby, the club remain adamant that they will not sell for less than £2m. At the moment Derby are yet to offer even half of that figure.

I dont think they will go back up. I'm sure he'll get a frosty reception if all rumours are too be believed.
