Bodde Set To Stay With Swansea?
Ferrie Bodde could still remain a Swansea City player for next seasons Championship campaign as a local press report has claimed.
Two bids from relegated premiership side Derby County were quickly turned down by the club and were dismissed as "laughable" by chairman Huw Jenkins. Rams chairman Adam Pearson had confirmed this week that they would be withdrawing from the race to sign the former Ado Den Haag player; citing the difference between the two clubs evaluation over the player as the reason behind the withdrawal.
It is still thought that Championship outfit Reading and Premiership side Sunderland are interested in the highly influential player but no offical bids have been tabled.
Bodde is due to meet with his representatives in the next 24 hours to discuss his future. It has not stopped club officials from sending a warning out to potential suitors, that they must meet the £2 million evaluation on the player.
Jenkins Told The SWEP:
|"Derby know where we stand," said Jenkins. "We have no axe to grind with Derby. I am not sure if they will come in again. We will have to wait and see what develops on the football side of things. Roberto is continuing to work on the development of this squad ready for next season, regardless of whether Ferrie is here or not."|
"My message to Derby and any other clubs interested in Ferrie is that they will have to meet our £2million valuation. Ferrie is a top-class player who could play in the top four of five clubs in the Premier League."
The Club shop is open from 11 am to 5 pm today for fans to snap up the new kits for the coming season.
