Derby Give Up On Bodde Capture

Derby County have raised the white flag in their battle to sign Dutch star Ferrie Bodde.

The Rams had their second bid of £750,000 rejected by the club and will now pursue other targets. County's first bid of £500,000 rising to £750,000 if the Pride Park outfit secured promotion to the Premier league was rejected very quickly by the club. led Chairman Huw Jenkins even called the offer "laughable" and way short of the £2 million evaluation of the former ADO Den Hagg player.

Bodde's future is less than certain after the highly influential midfielder's transfer request was rejected by the club. It is still uncertain if another suitor will meet Swansea City's high evaluation of the player.

Pearson Said:

"After failing to reach an agreement with Swansea City, we have decided to pursue other targets."
